Post author

Linda Joyce was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, yet she calls New Orleans home. Though she grew up traipsing across the United States from one Air Force base to the next, add in a four-year tour of Japan, she always returns to New Orleans to recharge and reconnect with her roots. However, people often give her odd looks when she explains she’s Irish-Cajun-Japanese. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Business Management, she worked as a Litigation Manager at an insurance company. While living in Kansas, she left corporate America and is now an award-winning writer under contract for her first novel. She currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and three dogs: General Beauregard, Gentleman Jack, and Masterpiece Renoir. Linda loves the game of Six Degrees of Separation and loves connecting with people. She always seeks to discover if she may have crossed paths with them before.

Well we were going to do the reverse savings this year if Tim worked during the winter we could start it but when they laid him off and we were shocked then that went away. So mine is reading the bible every day along with my womans bible I have had so much bad thing happen the last few weeks then got a call from a dr yesterday with the worst news about my disease and my liver I just knew I was doing the right thing. Then i just read an email from a friend who lost her house on Christmas so that even shocked me as I had not read about it she thought i had. My friend just went thru cancer breast chemo last summer and she is the same age as I . I met her at farmers market she has a large stand of vegis and her husband used to be my husbands boy scout leader. Happy New Year. Thank you for the chance as i would love to read and review the new books !

My wish every year is for my son’s continued health and for him to stop growing so much, haha. Anyway, thanks for the opportunity and wish me luck on getting my finances back on solid ground in 2017! I just got a promotion and raise, so maybe this’ll be my year to shine! Woot-woot!!

  39. Posted by Michelle Ferrari-Johnson Reply

2016 was very hard on our family. 2017 has already begun to outshine last year. Resolutions I don’t really make as I am old…er…..and don’t fly a fig in regards to impressing people. I read all of the time as I am injured (blah, blah part) and I remain slightly sane by diving into books. I am new to you but looking forward to exploring your world~

I lost 20 lbs. in 2016, and plan to lose more this year. Going to try and go to gym more each week to help me; I just have to get over being shy and working out in front of people, even though the gym is cool and no one cares. Ha.

  45. Posted by Rachael Clemons Reply

    Mine is to worry less.

  46. Posted by Barbara Hackel Reply

Linda, I am not a resolution maker. I do try to sit down at the end of the year and write a list of things that disappointed me, or things I thought I should have handled better. Funny how the first 9 months of the year is usually forgotten. Was it perfect? Was I perfect? Hahahaha not at all! I guess that time just has a way of soothing and healing issues. Anyway, this year I decided to change my method, and have promised myself (kinda like a resolution) that monthly I would make my list of “complaints” and then my list of ways I could improve things. Maybe by making a monthly list I will make some long overdue changes for the better. And isn’t that what we all want for the new year anyway?
Happy New Year to all. May 2017 be a wonderful year.

  65. Posted by Katie Lahey Reply

I’m not a big one for resolutions because I usually don’t keep them, however, recently I realized that I need to stop always looking at the future and start living more in the present (there’s a lot that is missed if you don’t stop & look sometimes). So, with that in mind, I have challenged myself to find at least one good thing each day to be grateful for and enjoy those moments.
